Asparagus Orach Salad

In the midst of this busy week of seeding and transplanting (and of course, some weeding!), I forgot to include the salad recipe in my last blog post.

It is very flexible (especially the vegetable quantities) and my measurements are not exact, but here is an approximation of what I’ve been making:

1 lb. asparagus

1 lb. orach

1 Tbsp white vinegar

1 Tbsp rice vinegar

1 Tbsp Bragg’s (or soy sauce)

1 Tbsp honey

1 tsp toasted sesame oil


Cut the asparagus into 2-inch pieces and steam it for several minutes. Meanwhile, wash and chop the orach. Add the asparagus to the orach while still warm, for a slightly wilted salad. Combine the remaining ingredients and mix into veggies. Bon appetit!

    I am wondering if we could pick up our veggies at the farm this week just after 4 on Sunday as we are spending the afternoon at Moosomin Native Fellowship Church (just outside Cochin) and then heading directly to Mont Nebo. Let me know if this is a problem or not. Thanks!

  2. Sorry change of plan. We can now pick up our veggies at the in town location. We will not pick them up at the farm.
